With the exception of some very minor finishing touches, our jet is finished with the restoration process and is now being prepped for its display within the museum.  Jim and Rick met with museum officials recently and began planning the dedication.  The plan is to choose a date in the very near future to have a gathering in May.  The venue and agenda are still under consideration so now's the time to speak up!  Email Jim and Rick with your ideas.  Some have suggested a bag-drag at a local watering hole on Friday evening, followed by a more civilized dinner the next evening with spouses, accountants, and significant others (or all of the above).  So, either start dieting now or look for a bigger flight suit on Ebay to stuff your huge gut into!

On another note, NEANG Phantoms Inc recently donated to a museum project to significantly impromve the T-29 display.  The museum launched a program which installs computers and desks in the T-29 to use as a classroom for thousands of visiting young men and women.  Each desk is outfitted with two monitors:  one provides a view through the windscreen and the other the dash of any aircraft they select.  These displays then become outstanding simulators.  Our board thought the support of the T-29 was appropriate to our stated mission of preserving Nebraska military history as many of our WSO's trained in that aircraft.   There will be appropriate recognition of our donation in the aircraft and on a donors board.

+  Aircraft priming is completed and the first coat of Euro camo has been applied. The Museum staff will continue working on the camo and eventually move to the detailed markings from the late 1980's era with the 155th Tac Recon Group.

+  If you receive the Nebraska National Guard Prairie Soldier Newspaper, look on the front page of the May 2007 issue for a great feature article on the effort to display 65-0903 in the Museum.  This issue will be available online at  http://www.neguard.com/ in a few weeks.

+   The Museum Restoration staff, under the able direction of Mark "Hambone" Hamilton continues to work on the aircraft.  If you're interested in volunteering to assist in the restoration process, contact "Hambone" at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it   or 402-944-3100 X 231.

+  The RF-4C was on the front page of the Omaha World Herald evening edition on Thursday, 8 Feb 07.  We're also expecting a second World Herald article later this week.  The RF-4C was featured on the front page of the Friday, 15 Feb 07 Lincoln Journal Star and the Blair, Nebraska paper also ran a feature on the RF-4C project .  The Nebraska National Guard's PRAIRIE SOLDIER newspaper will publish photos in its February issue, with a full feature article to follow in April.  News links:

Using proceeds from your donations, the final payment on our Loan from Great Western Bank was made on 31 Jan 07.  So the Strategic Air and Space Museum has their money, most of the jet is back in Nebraska and nearly all of our bills have been paid.  That's great news!

So what's next?  We will now shift our phocus from fundraising to the restoration and display of the aircraft.  In addition, we want to expand this website as a phorum for us phormer drivers to share information.

If you haven't joined the RF-4C 65-0903 effort yet, you can still participate.  Donations are still being accepted and all funds raised will be used to enhance the RF-4C display at the Museum and to support the dedication ceremony.  The NEANG Phantom Inc. Board of Directors will not accept any compensation for their time and services and no outside assistance will be contracted for.  Your donation will be responsibly used to directly support the RF-4C display and historical information at the Museum.  See below for information on where to send your check.  You can also donate instantly from your Credit/Debit Card via the link on the right side of the page.

Let's spread the word about this website and the 65-0903 project to everyone who flew the RF-4C with the Nebraska ANG.  It's going to be a once-in-a-lifetime event when we dedicate the RF-4C at the Museum and can say publicly that this is a gift to the Museum and people of Nebraska from "some of those who flew the aircraft."
